Friesland College
The canteen is a learning company of Friesland College run by students. In our design, we used contemporary materials, an industrial ceiling and sheet piling. This creates a hip and fresh look.

Welcome to Studio OAK’s beautiful interior design project for the Take Away Restaurant of the Friesland College in Leeuwarden. Designed by our hospitality architects, this restaurant is not just another eatery, but a learning company run entirely by talented students from Friesland College.
The design for Friesland College
Our goal was to create a contemporary and trendy look, using modern materials, an industrial ceiling and sheet piling. The result is a hip and fresh ambiance where everyone feels at home.
One of the striking features of the design is the open kitchen. This allows guests to see the dishes being prepared, which not only creates a transparent atmosphere, but also better customer contact. The central island in the space is strategically placed to best present the dishes.
Our carefully designed routing allows people to move naturally through the space, even with multiple catering concepts and takeout points in the same space. The Take Away Restaurant functions as a food hall, where you can go for a healthy salad, a delicious Asian street food dish, a fresh sandwich from the bakery or even a quick coffee to go.
The versatility of the hospitality industry is presented here in a wonderful and fun way, providing a great way for students to learn about this field and discover and learn its endless possibilities.
Stop by and be surprised by the culinary experience our talented students have to offer. Welcome to Studio OAK, where passion for interior design and creativity come together!
