Aviator Experience Resort – China
In collaboration with and commissioned by Achterbosch-Wei Architects China, we at Studio Oak had the opportunity to realize the interior design for the Aviator Experience resort in China. A remarkable project, situated in and around the fuselage of an old Boeing 737.
For this resort, we designed the complete interior of two restaurants, the reception area, and the Cloud Café.

The most iconic feature is the Aeroplane Restaurant, where we drew inspiration from the pioneering years of aviation. The interior concept, “Explores futuristic cuisine and escapes from the past,” takes guests back to the nostalgia of the golden age of flying while adding a futuristic experience. Think elegant metallic accents, vintage aviation memorabilia, and seating reminiscent of the luxury of first-class cabins.
The spatial experience, however, goes beyond aesthetics: the restaurant is designed to immerse visitors in a total experience where gastronomy, storytelling, and interior design come together. Every detail contributes to a sense of escape and adventure – a culinary journey that stimulates the senses and sparks the imagination.
With this project, we aimed to honor the past, shape the present, and let people experience the future – a unique design assignment where innovation and nostalgia meet.
